Today’s US utilities navigate a complex environment: aging infrastructure, the imperative for enhanced reliability and safety, the rapid growth of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), and increasing consumer expectations. Traditional metering falls short. The Nexbe NX2S platform is purpose-built to address these challenges, transforming the meter into a vital sensor and control point at the true grid edge.
By extending the function of a typical revenue meter, the NX2S measures, processes and analyzes data at the edge, providing detailed information and provides a local wi-fi hotspot under utility control, for DR/load control of domestic appliances.
This combination of data and control allows new consumer products to be created to allow and incentivize the optimization of power-hungry items such as electric vehicles, heating and cooling devices and hot water systems.
Nexbe’s smart meters offer:
